IGS, www.geosyntheticssociety.org, is a worldwide learned society dedicated to the scientific and engineering advancement of geosynthetics (namely, geotextile, geogrid, geomembrane, band drain and a whole range of plastic sheet that find application in civil and geotechnical engineering) and associated technology as well as sustainable development. It was founded in 1983 and has 43 chapters in various countries with a membership of 4,000 +.

We represent a group of long time practitioners in Hong Kong and are enthusiastic to form a local chapter to promote the use of geosynthetics, to provide technical support, to bridge local engineering to global achievement and eventually to organize international events.
